  • 2023 ‘Island’ Rosé (Shiraz Grenache)

What better wine to drink on an island than rosé? There is a team of people behind every wine, and like the credits rolling at the end of a movie, we wanted to highlight everyone that has contributed along the way.

  • NV ‘Noble’ Sparkling Shiraz

Sparkling Shiraz – as uniquely Australian as panning for gold under a gum tree. Ethel (Old English for Noble) Gregory, Sarah’s beloved grandmother, spent her twilight years prospecting for gold and painting the Australian landscape around her adopted country town of Tarnagulla, Victoria. Making a similar tree change, we join her in search of our Noble Gold – Barossa Valley Shiraz.

  • 2021 ‘Duck, Duck, Cat’ Grenache

  • 2021 ‘The SG’ Shiraz Grenache

The SG is named in recognition of Sarah Gregory, one half of Genista. Sarah and I met in 2008 while working together, and it was her strong work ethic that drew me in. With her generosity, support and commitment, she has helped me to realise my dream of Genista in the Barossa Valley.

A blend of Shiraz and Grenache, the two varieties complement each other just as we have for over 14 years.

  • 2020 ‘Taking the Mickie’ Shiraz

  • 2018 ‘Taking the Mickie’ Shiraz

Growing up in suburban Melbourne, viticulture and winemaking were completely foreign to me. Discovering a taste for Shiraz in my early twenties, my interest in the field continued to grow until one day I bought a vineyard and we moved to the Barossa Valley. The vine change would not have happened without the support of our friends and family, particularly my parents Kristine and Mickie.

I’m sure my Dad thought we were “taking the mickie” when we first suggested hand pruning our four acres of Shiraz. Every winter he leaves the comfort of retirement, rolls up his sleeves and gets the job done.

Please enjoy this wine with your family and friends.

  • VinOair Wine Pourer

To minimise splashes and stains that come with free pouring from the bottle, the Genista VinOair Aerator is the solution. Simply place the aerator into the mouth of the wine bottle and pour as normal, oxygenating the wine as you pour. Works with both red and white wines and is very easy to clean. Just rinse with hot water after use, and allow to dry before storing in the display case.
